Interview with Zoe Voss
August 30, 2010 by Christina
Hello Zoe, those who might not know you, what is your name and please describe yourself?
My name is Zoe Voss and I am an adult performer. I’m originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota and also I am a fashion model.
What prompted you to join the adult industry?
I’ve always had an interest in the adult industry and decided to just “take the plunge”.
Before you started doing film you were a model. Besides the obvious, what are some of the key differences between adult modeling and performing?
They are both performances, but two different kinds. In modeling, your movements are captured in a single instance; an image that reflects a specific moment. When you are performing, you have to remember that every movement and every moment is a constant reflection to the viewer. There are no pauses in between.
You were recently in the Club 59/Elegant Angel title Girl Crush and will also be featured in New Sensations Sex & the City parody. What has it been like getting to work on these big movies?
I have felt very honored to work with New Sensations and Elegant Angel. They are both reputable companies and have treated me like a princess. I can’t wait to see the finished product from both.
Seeing that you are brand spanking new, what would you say is the biggest surprise as far as performing goes?
Luckily for me, I haven’t endured many surprises as of yet. A close friend of mine, Andy San Dimas, sat me down and talked to me about the industry before I even started, so I had a decent idea of what to expect. However, I will admit that I didn’t expect some days on set to go so long, especially features/parodies.
What would you say is the biggest misconception people have of people who work in the adult industry?
Assuming that they are a sex crazed moron who has AIDS and just want to bang everybody. Obviously not true.
You have announced that you are building a website and I know you are trying to keep some things secret, but can you tell us anything you can tell us about the site? Do you have a launch date in mind?
My site will include content, videos and photos, frequent blog updates, a forum, contests, and more. I don’t have a specific launch date as of yet, but we’re looking at sometime before this winter.
Do you see yourself still performing for a while? Any desire to branch out and direct or go out feature dancing?
I will be performing for a while! I’ve never danced before so I doubt I could do it very well or gracefully for that matter. I may learn in the future, however. As far as directing, I may do so later in my career.
What would you say is your favorite scene you have done so far?
I have so many favorites! I’d have to say, a scene I had with Manuel Ferrara for Sweet Sinner is at the top of my list.
Who are the people that you really want to work with while you are doing movies?
There are several people I haven’t worked with that I would like to. As far as males, I’d love to work with Evan Stone, I think he’s hilarious. As for girls, I’d love to work with Jenna Haze or Tori Black. I think we have similar bodies and it would look pretty hot!
What advice would you give someone that is thinking about joining the adult industry?
Get informed. Talk to people who are in the industry who can tell you everything you could possibly know. It’s a big decision and you should be sure about it before you decide.
What sort of things do you like to do when you aren’t working? Any hobbies?
I’m a very laid-back lady. In my spare time I usually idle on twitter, read, write literature and music, sing, cook lots of pasta, and play with my kitten, Tika.
Are there any projects or special events coming up that you would like to promote, if so please do so?
I will be performing in Vivid’s Superman XXX parody mid-September, releasing November, with Andy San Dimas. Also, New Sensation’s Sex & the City: A XXX Parody will be released August 30th.
