Review of the Sinclair Institute’s Crystal G: Glass G-Spot Wand
Given to me for free from Topco, the Crystal G Glass G-Spot Wand is a lovely little toy with curves in all the right places. The Sinclair Institute has a true winner with this glass g-spot toy which provides an endless list of pleasures.
The Crystal G really is beautiful. It’s probably the prettiest toy I have, and yes, I do have a few pretty toys! It’s slightly curved, like a long parenthesis, and made from clear cyberglass. My favorite part of the Crystal G is the lovely, light green paint/etching decorating the whole shaft. This lovely, clear glass toy is adorned with mossy green vines and leaves, weaving their way up and down the toy.
Both toys of the toy are useable, with one end with a slick shaft that tips slightly at the end, like a cat’s tail. About halfway in the middle of the toy there are three bulbous nubs. Each of the numbs are identical in size, though the two middle ones are closer together, the last one towards the end spaced out a little further from than other two. While the slick side ends in a small curved tip, the other finishes off with one of the thicker bulbs.
The toy is about six inches long, and about 1.5 inches wide, with the bumps being about half again as big as the main shaft.
The Crystal G comes in a while box, securely held in place by plastic packaging material. I think the Sinclair Institute boxes look smart and chic. There are no goofy women, no over stimulating colors or graphics, just a white box that features the toy, letting the toy sell itself.
Sound:
This toy is a dildo, so it’s completely silent while in use. There are no vibrations or clinking sounds, but be careful because it can be heavy enough to make quite a thump if you drop it. (It also clangs against the sink every time I wash it.)
Scent:
This toy does not have any odors, but be sure to keep it clean and sanitized. The packaging includes care instructions on cleaning and safety. Since the cyberglass is nonporous, I seriously doubt it’s the type of toy that will pick up any scents, either.
Salivation:
This this toy has no flavor, should you want to put it in one’s mouth. Since it won’t pick up any scents, it’s doubtful this toy will pick up any flavors, either.
At just over five ounces, the Crystal G isn’t too heavy. It’s a comfortable weight where you don’t feel like it’s going to get lost, but not too heavy it can’t be fun. It isn’t too long, either. At about six inches, it’s for g-spot play so length isn’t the focus.
The glass is smooth and nice. While you can feel the pretty green etching with your fingertips, I myself couldn’t feel it inside. One would have to have uber-sensitivity to be able to feel something so delicate and subtle. So, the etching is for decoration (and I love it) and not for added sensation.
In my experience, this toy retains cold and warmth rather well. Every time I’ve used it, it’s been satisfyingly at room and body temperature. I’m also one of those crazy people who loves to put my toys in the freezer (perfect for a hot summer day!). The Crystal G, being made of cyberglass, kept comfortably cool long enough for me to enjoy the icy sensations.
Sexy Factor:
The smaller, narrower end was my favorite of the two ends. It was just the right size to slip inside easily. It’s for stimulating the g-spot so I didn’t feel too full or stuffed. (I tend to not like huge toys). I’ve used g-spot toys in the past that really hurt me and felt uncomfortable. Sometimes these toys angel too drastically to get any pleasant sensations, but not so with the Crystal G. It has just the right amount of curve! It’s not really the most awesome for thrusting, but is really great for that little inside jiggle, just a tickle inside to hit the body to push one over the edge.
I usually don’t engage in anal play, but the narrow tip of the Crystal G was really fun for just that little bit of extra backdoor sensation. I wouldn’t recommend it for exclusive anal play, though. It wasn’t built for that and might not be safe for any type of serious insertion or thrusting.
The other end with the bulbs was nice, but not my personal favorite. It felt fine inside, but the sensation of alternating between being full-narrow- full-narrow was distracting. I personally can’t get off if there is any variation in sensation, but something like this can be fun to play with.
I’m not the biggest fan of using toys with a partner (I think they can be distracting) but this one is fine for solo or with a friend. It doesn’t make any distracting sounds, it’s pretty so no one will be offended by weird shapes, and it’s designed to be user friendly, so it’s easy on the wrists and hands.
A moist pussy is a happy pussy. The Sinclair Institute recommends using lube with this toy, and while one’s natural lubrications may be enough, a little extra juice doesn’t hurt, either. Lube makes the toy nice and slick, but too much and it may be hard to grip.
Final Thoughts and Ratings:
The Crystal G is a toy I’ll probably use quite a bit. I enjoyed it a lot, and I think it has many great features. I love glass toys – they’re so pretty! They’re also waterproof, nonporous, phthalate free, and really easy to clean. The Crystal G itself can be cleaned in the dishwasher, with soap and water, or boiled. Glass may sound scary, but cyberglass won’t break, and it’s comfortable for the body temperature, or playing around with heat or coldness. The toy packaging includes care instructions, so be sure to treat your toy kindly. Use lube, keep it clean, and don’t use it if it’s cracked or broken.
Free to me from Topco, Sinclair Institute’s Crystal G: Glass G-Spot Wand earns 4 out of 5!
