Review of Wild Fire Slimline G 8X Dual Pleaser
I was very, very excited for this toy. Free to me from Topco, the Slimline G 8X Dual Pleaser has a complicated name and similarly complicated functions. It was my first rabbit-style toy, and the bright orange color was just so cute, I couldn’t wait to give it a try. That said, the dual Pleaser might actual be the Dual Disappoint.
Sight:
The packaging for the 8X dual Pleaser is a pleasant box with a clear window that lets one admire the toy. There are no weird pictures of porn stars or goofy taglines or anything. It’s pretty sophisticated and appealing, and because it didn’t advertise anything strange or bizarre, it made me even more excited about the toy.
The Slimline G comes in two colors: titillating tangerine and passionate pear. Mine is tangerine (orange). I really love the color of this toy. Many toys are pink or purple, and green and orange are such fun, funky colors. It’s kind of translucent, so you can see parts of the inner motor, which is kind of cool. Since this is my first rabbit-style toy, I was interested in seeing what it looked like on the inside.
The shaft is almost nine inches long, including the motor and controls at the base. Being a rabbit toy, the clitoral section is about two and a half inches long, with a slim girl of just over an inch. Being a “slimline g” product, it’s small enough for those who are new to toys, but not so small that it compromises the sensations.
The bottom part of the toy is made of hard plastic. This is where the motor is for the toy, and where the three AAA batteries go. Next is another part of the motor where the clitoral bullet attaches to the main shaft of the toy. This part is the soft rubbery stuff that most of the toy is made of. (I have no idea what it is.) On top of that is where the beads are. There are three rows of silver metal beads inside, which the packaging promises “won’t jam”, which I guess is a problem with some rabbit toys. On top of that is a little tip that curves. The curve is for the g-spot pleasure of this Slimline G toy. The bullet part of this rabbit-style toy looks like just a regular bullet, but its tip curves, too.
The toy has ridges up and down the shaft, especially where the beads are, and even on the clitoral bullet part of the toy. The ridges almost make the 8X Dual Pleaser look like a fat caterpillar, but thankfully, that’s where the animal comparisons end. What used to always scare me about rabbit-style vibrators was that they often had some weird animal theme going on. I’m sorry, but I really don’t want toys that look like butterflies or dolphins or yes, even rabbits. The bright color and sophisticated design of the 8X Dual Pleaser is very appealing.
Sound:
The Slimline G has two motors. One is for the clitoral stimulating bullet function. This setting is pretty quiet, more of a low rumble. The rotating beads, however, have a pretty loud, grumbling motor. The bullet can probably be used discreetly, but I wouldn’t use the rotating beads in the shaft I was afraid of someone hearing me.
Scent:
This is going to sound crazy, but I love the way this toy smells. It kind of smells pleasantly like vanilla and new rubber/plastic. I’ve had it for months and it still smells good. The scent reminds me of opening a box with a new toy when I was a kid, or a Barbie doll or something.
Salivation:
The flip side of smelling like new-plastic is that this toy tastes like plastic. It smells much nicer than it tastes. It’s not terrible, but I feel like I’m snacking on a G.I. Joe. The 8X Dual Pleaser also leaves a strange, chemical aftertaste, too.
Sensation:
It’s heavier than most of the toys I own, about half a pound, and most of the weight is in the motor at the base. That said, the insertable section is pretty light, so it won’t feel weird or uncomfortable inside because it’s too heavy.
This toy is pleasant to touch. The shaft is soft pliable, with plenty of flexibility in all of the spots where there isn’t a motor, and where there is a motor it’s not hard or unsatisfying. The texture is pretty nice, and it’s even nicer when it’s lubricated.
The vibrating function is kind of complex with this toy. It has two power buttons. One controls the clitoral bullet and the other controls the motor for the beads in the shaft. I liked that these were separate because it’s easier to control the functions. The clitoral function has eight settings, ranging from super high to very low, and every rumble, vibrate and pulse in between. The shaft only has one speed, and it can go clockwise or counterclockwise. I honestly can’t tell much of a difference between the two.
Sexy Factor:
This Slimline G is phthalate free and latex free, which is very sexy. Three AAA batteries aren’t hard to find, and it’s waterproof, too.
My favorite part of it was the clitoral bullet part. If I pressed down really hard I could feel it, but it’s just too padded for me to get any vibration without maneuvering it around. The curved tip is nice, in theory, but it’s just too much plastic between the vibrator and the clitoris to get any real sensation from it.
Inside I didn’t like it very much. At first it was too much at once, and then I realized that even though it seemed like a lot was going on, not enough of any one thing was going on for me to be able to get off. As a g-spot toy it didn’t work. The beads are decent but not great, and the “curved and contoured for targeted pleasure” tip was just way too far up in there.
Basically, I could get off with just the bullet on my clit, but not with the toy inside. Inserted, the clitoral stimulator does not touch the clitoris at all, and the vibrations aren’t pin-point enough, anyway. There’s just a lot going on but it’s cool stuff going on in the wrong places.
This toy is waterproof, which is nice because it gives the user many options. I didn’t enjoy it in the shower, though. It’s an awkward toy that only seems to work if everything is just so, and in the shower there just wasn’t enough room for me to get it where I needed it. But, maybe someone else would have better luck. Just make sure the rubber O ring is in place where the batteries go, because the rubber ring keeps the insides of the toy nice, dry, sealed and tight.
When cleaning this toy, be sure to get between the ridges. This toy has subtle bumps and textures up the shaft, and it would be easy to imagine those areas being neglected.
Another thing I noticed was that this toy doesn’t always turn on right away. It’s pretty sensitive as far as the batteries go, and there’s even a little sticker on the battery case that says “must close cap tightly,” but sometimes closing it tightly means you can’t get the batteries out when you’re done and ready to store the Slimline G. Also, don’t put the batteries in upside down, because then nothing will happen and you’ll just be confused.
Without lube this toy is fine, but both myself and the makers of the toy, Wildfire, recommend using lube. It just feels nicer.
I saw the 8X Dual Pleaser on sale with prices ranging anywhere from $20-$40. That’s quite a huge price difference. It’s an affordable novelty, and much cheaper than like-items on the market, so even if it’s not love at first sight, there isn’t much of a loss.
Final Thoughts and Rating:
Well, this toy seems like it has many factors going well for it, but it didn’t quite add up to what I was expecting and wanting. The colors are great and the functions seem awesome, but the clitoral bullet is too padded to get any sensation, and the g-spot curve is too far up the shaft to even hit the g-spot. As far as I’m concerned, the beads are a novelty but not a necessity. So, my first experience with a rabbit styled toy was less than stellar. That said, my dislike of the Slimline G 8X Dual Pleaser is based off of my own experiences and my own opinion. This might not be the toy for me, but it might be the perfect gift experience for someone who is less picky. Free to me from Topco, the Wildfire Slimline G 8X Dual Pleaser had potential, but didn’t follow through, earning it 2.75 out of 5.
