Interview with Raven Rockette

Hello Raven, for those who might not know you please let us know you are and please describe yourself?

Well, I’m Raven Rockette. I was born in Los Angeles California, Raised out in Sin City. I just recently graduated high school.

What prompted you to join the adult industry?

I was just a model on Model Mayhem when my old agent’s girlfriend had asked if I wanted to be represented by them as agents. They brought me out to LA and I started working instantly. A few months later I moved to LA Direct with Derek (Hay) and ever since then things have been getting even better.

Seeing that you are brand new to the industry, what would you say is the biggest difference between what you thought it would be like and what it is actually like?

Well I really had no clue how it would be. I didn’t expect too much from anyone or anything. I was pretty nervous but things managed to work out well. When I went on my first shoot for Earl Miller they were nice and explained anything I had questions about.

I could only find solo scenes and girl/girl scenes on your resume so far. Are you doing boy/girl too or are you sticking to girl/girl and solos for now?

I’m planning on sticking to the girl/girl scenes and solos, mainly because I really love working with girls. I feel like what I’m doing isn’t like all the typical hardcore fucking porn. I can be rough and kind of kinky but when it comes down to being in a scene with a beautiful girl, you can kiss passionately. That’s more of how I want to represent myself as rather than having sex with guys when I’ve done that a million times, I don’t need to see it videotaped. I also don’t want to ruin any chance of moving into some mainstream stuff in the future.

Any thoughts of creating a members site and if so, what can your fans expect to find on that site?

I plan to in the very near future and I’m still considering what should be up. It would of course contain a short bio, some pictures of my crazy hair, some links to videos/stills and maybe some blog stuff if I ever got around to it.

What advice would you give someone that is thinking about joining the adult industry?

As far as advice, all I can say really is just be yourself. Don’t try hard to be somebody you’re not. It won’t ever feel right. It won’t ever be right. You just need to do what feels right for you and if you can be that and be stable then you’ll be just fine.

Do you have any thoughts of working behind the scenes, in some fashion, as well as working in front of the camera?

Raven Rockette 2Well from July till November I was enrolled in college at an art institute location and was taking DFVP or Digital Film and Video Production. Basically learning everything about the behind the scenes stuff; filming, editing, audio and more. I only stayed for a little while. I never wanted to jump head first into college and because I am working I would rather go back when I can truly devote my time to it. I still keep my eyes open on set, even when I’m in front of the camera.

Who would you say are your idols, either in the industry or outside the industry?

My idols, range I suppose in certain ways. My first and foremost would be Courtney Love and Trent Reznor. Courtney’s music has been so inspirational as well as Trent or Kurt Cobain’s. A completely new sound, new era, that whole bit. She rocked so many stages and fucked up a lot of shit, never gave two fucks about any of it. I admire her attitude and her strength in herself to keep succeeding and furthermore, coming out with amazing albums or new clothing lines. Trent is a do it all yourself kind of guy, He wrote most of everything he has done for NIN (Nine Inch Nails) and his other projects, he produced it all, played the instruments and did it all old school; analog for the most part, which is kind of hard. The sounds, the beat, the whole amazing thing about NIN and all of Trent’s work is all the emotional bad assery that flows out of it. It says so much even just by the symphony of crazy, musical noises making up this amazing industrial genius. Lastly Kurt, Kurt has said some things that don’t make a lick of sense and then he’s said some things that are forever burned in the back of my mind. His music can mean whatever you want it to and yet it will always have something deeper you know he was feeling. There’s so much hurt, sickness and hate poured into the epic sound of Nirvana. “One baby to another says ‘I’m lucky to have met you’ I don’t care what you think unless it is about me” – Drain You.

I couldn’t find anything on this but have you thought of feature dancing as well as performing in movies?

I’m not all that fantastic of a dancer, I can sing, kind of play guitar, and act for the most part dancing is a little embarrassing.

Who are some of the people that you really want to work with but haven’t as of yet?

Well, I’m not sure necessarily who yet. I don’t search for girls really, I just like the surprise on set or when I’m booked usually.

Raven Rockette 3What sort of things do you like to do when you aren’t working? Any hobbies?

I like to play guitar, write music, make smoothies, hangout with my close friends, eat pizza, relax, read books and talk to my fans. Oh, and have lots of sex, like always.

Are there any projects or special events coming up that you would like to promote, if so please do so?

Well, some stuff from Holly Randall, some stuff from Kink in January and my Gia: Lesbian Supermodel movie from Nica Noelle and more to come.
