Scarlett Fay 1Hello Scarlett, for those who might not know you please let us know you are and please describe yourself?

Hey there my little crumb snatchers. Well, it’s been eight years since I’ve been in the adult industry, so, by now, you should know who I am. I’m that redhead who played Lindsay Lohan in four different parodies for Hustler and wound up on TMZ, E! News, Radar Online and Perez Hilton for those roles. My 5.5 seconds of fame. I definitely enjoyed it. I’m the original girl next door and just like the butterfly, you would never guess that I’ve done over 100 of the hottest pornographic scenes since 2007. I’ve worked for PlayboyTV for such shows as: Badass: Seasons 1 and 2, Naughty Amateur Home Videos with Bree Olson, Playboy’s Beach House where I was also a co-star and was lucky enough to interview 3 Oh! 3. I’ve shot for Girls and Corpses Magazine as Lindsay Lohan, which got me featured on E! News. I’ve worked with Tony Batman for A! Entertainment and have helped out with Vince Neils Golf Charity Events two years in a row. Whew, I’ve been busy these last eight years  but I can’t wait to tell you about my biggest project yet. Stay tuned and keep reading.

For those that may not know, you have been a part of a mainstream movie project over the past few years called High & Outside. What is this movie about and how did you get involved?

This is my first mainstream indie movie and it all came to me by chance. The lead in the film and myself had worked on a project together a few years prior and had kept in touch ever since. The director was holding auditions and this friend of mine encouraged me to come out and audition for the role of the girlfriend of the lead character. I had never been more nervous. I went to a performing arts school when I was younger and did plenty of theatre in high school and was never once nervous, but this was big time and I really wanted the role. What I didn’t realize, was that there weren’t any sides or even a script for me to look at. Everything was improvised. My entire audition was improvised! So, instead of going the dramatic route, my scene partner and myself turned our audition into a comedy and everybody loved it. The next day I received a phone call and got the part and for 2.5 years I have been working with the most amazing people who have become some of my best friends and family and I’m excited for those of you to see it.

What did you think of them using Kickstarter to fund the movie and what was the experience like waiting to see if the funds came in?

Kickstarter can be a great place to get your project out there. The only down side is that you have to make sure that your movie is something people want to actually see. I think I speak for all of the cast and crew when I say that we were incredible nervous about getting funding for this movie and there were plenty of times where we didn’t think we were going to make it. That’s why this movie took so long to get off the ground. One minute we had funding to get certain scenes done and the next minute we would be cooling our heels for months waiting for the next shoot. It’s certainly Scarlett Fay 2frustrating and there were definitely times that I didn’t think it was going to get made at all. Although it’s an indie movie, it’s incredibly mainstream and we have many big names who are a part of it. Not to mention, it’s loosely based off a true story and everyone involved in this movie, from the cast to the crew have been incredible and have taught me so much. It was definitely intimidating walking onto this set with people who have been professionally acting for years and although I’d like to think of myself as being a Porntress and have received plenty of great reviews when it came to my acting in features for porn, being on a mainstream set with people who have done this for years, have studied acting, it can definitely make you feel a wee bit insecure. But I was welcome with open arms and vibes with everyone right from the get-go. It’s a bitter sweet feeling knowing that it’s almost over.

Tell us about your character and how she fits into the story?

My character is Angie is not only a stripper, but she’s also a major baseball groupie and surprisingly knows a lot about baseball players. Angie is definitely into the lead, “Phil,” who is desperately trying to make it into the major leagues and I believe that Angie see’s Phil as her way out, her meal ticket. You do feel for Angie, but she and Phil together are poisonous for each other. There is no love between them. It’s all about sex and Angie hoping against hope that Phil will be her way out of the strip club. Phil, however, has bigger things to worry about. He’s just been let go from his team and needs money badly to get back into training. Phil is falling apart at the seams. Constantly drinking and looking for any means he can to get the money together in order to go to this baseball camp. His Father, Len Harding, refuses to give him the money, so, Phil has to resort to selling drugs and borrowing from people he can’t pay back. On top of it all, his entire family life has fallen apart. His wife has left him and has taken his daughter because Phil is not of sound mind to take care of a anyone, let alone himself. Phil even uses Angie to introduce him to her boss who runs the strip club where she works in order to strike up some sort of deal that goes badly very quick. Phil can’t keep himself focused enough to become a major league baseball play and has surrounded himself with people who have no real interested in getting him there either. It’s a pretty dark film, but I’m certain viewers will like it.

Who are some of the other actors in the movie and what can you tell us about their characters?

“Johnny” happens to be “Phil’s best friend, whom is also party of a biker gang and although he’s been there for Phil, he hasn’t exactly been the best influence. Phil’s father, Len, is slowly dying but  in his younger days he was this amazing baseball player and his son, Phil, has been living in his fathers shadow every since. It would be accurate to say that Phil and his father do not have the best father/son relationship. Heather is Phil’s soon to be ex-wife who has struggles of her own trying to establish herself and create her own independence. There is still plenty of love between Heather and Phil, but she can’t live with the constant drinking and fighting that happen on a daily basis between Phil and his father.

Scarlett Fay 5Sadly, one of your co-stars, Geoffrey Lewis, passed away recently. He was a man who had been in whole myriad of different movies. You have mentioned that you share an especially important scene in this movie. What was it like working with him and what, if anything, can you tell us about your scene with him?

Losing Geoffrey Lewis hit me harder than I thought it would. I had only been on set with him a few times, but we finally got to share a scene together that was completely improvised. It was such an honor working with him and when I heard of his passing I felt nothing but grief and horrible sadness that he was not going to be able to see the finish product of our movie together. But let me tell you about this man, he was an amazing actor, professional, and hysterical. I didn’t know the man well, but I was thrilled to find out that he would be a part of this movie because he was such an amazing actor. The scene he and I did together had no script. We didn’t this scene a few different ways and all I could think about was “Holy shit! I’m working with Geoffrey Lewis!” How many people can say that? I was so nervous, but there was something so calming about him that put me at easy while we were shooting. Every thing is easier when you have a script in front of you, but to have this natural conversation while on film, no script, completely improvised, it’s incredible. When I found out about his death, April 7th, I completely broke down and I had no way of knowing that I was going to react that way, We had that one scene together and I would have liked the opportunity to have gotten to know him a little more. This movie is for Geoffrey.

It has also been announced that the movie is going to be completed soon and will be releasing this summer? How excited are you to see the final project and is their a projected date for the release or is it just sometime this summer?

I wish we had an exact date, but there is no such thing. haha. All I know is that by this summer, if not sooner, the movie will be completely wrapped and I’m both sad and thrilled. We all got here together and I do believe that people will truly enjoy it. Especially the die hard baseball fans.

High & Outside is a drama. Do you think that you are a good fit for that genre or so you see yourself more as a comedic actor?

I’ve been told many times how funny I am on twitter, but when it comes down to it, I love dramatic roles. I know that I can be funny, but it’s the dramatic roles that push my acting ability a little further and help me to explore those painful things that have happened in my life. It’s easy to be funny, it’s easy to create a funny character. Especially when you’re hiding behind social media, but actually bringing out that pain in a dramatic scene is so much harder and such a challenge. Horror and dramatic movies are really what I want to do. Although, I wouldn’t mind being in a Coen bros film.

Seeing that you had a pretty special time working on this movie, do you have a desire to go out and to try your hand at more Scarlett Fay 4mainstream acting in the future?

Absolutely. Being a part of this movie has taught me a lot and I know that I do need a lot of practice. I do need to take a few acting classes in order to touch up and pick up where I left off. I was in performing arts school when I was younger and did theatre all through high school and college, but being on set with real actors has definitely made me feel a little insecure about my own acting. I was always told on porn features that I was a great actress but what does that really mean? I love doing indie films because of all the heart and soul that goes into it and how close you become with the people you’re working with. When I was much younger, I wanted to be in cross country and track just like my uncle who passed away just before I was born. I did that. My next dream was to become an actress, do theatre, make movies and I did that. I love being on both sides of the track when it comes to these industries. I’m not looking to be famous, in fact, I don’t want to be famous. I just want to do what I love and be a part of something. My next dream is to become a writer. I’ve been writing all my life. So, that’s the next big thing on the menu
