Review of The Artist

Randy Spears is still fairly new to the directing game. He’s still trying to find his voice in The Artist. In this movie Brad Armstrong plays an artist who has a unique gift. He also has students, one of them being the lovely jessica drake. The movie starts with Brad sitting in front of an easel drawing a picture of jessica. It then switches to him with Exotica, who plays his model. He directs her in different poses and she complies. She acts like a robot in a way, the reason for this gets revealed later. After a little more drawing he instructs her pussy for sex. 

Scene 1: Exotica and Brad Armstrong                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            After her tells her to prepare they have a little more conversation before he tells her to start masturbating, which she does. She does this for a minute or so before he walks over to have her suck him off. This is quickly followed by reverse cowgirl, which Exotica really seemed to get into it. Doggie is next as it flows right into spoons. Scene ends with a nice facial.                                                                                                                                                                                             Afterward we see them cuddling and it is revealed they only have 24 hours together. That time is almost up and she wonders if he will draw her again. I’ll explain in case you confused. Brad has a special gift, that gift being anything he draws comes to life. Next the story takes us to a strip club. We see Brad checking out a table behind his. At the table is jessica drake, Barrett Blade and Ryder Skye. He goes up and starts talking to them cause he heard them talking about art, and since he’s an artist he figured he’d drop in. After a bit of talking jessica realizes that he is a famous art teacher. He then offers them a chance to come learn from him. He wants jessica to take pictures of Ryder sucking on Barrett and to have them come by his place the next night at 11.

Scene 2: Ryder Skye and Barrett Blade

After he leaves jessica tells Ryder to start sucking. She immediately starts to do so. Missionary is first up on the positions as jessica continues to take pictures. Doggie is follows that up as the scene ends with a facial. Side note, Barrett seemed to have wood problems throughout scene. This was a little distracting at time and it seemed Ryder wasn’t getting into it like she normally does.  It’s the next night and the gang from the strip club, show up at Brad’s apartment. They give him the photos and he tells them that knowledge is their reward. Later that night we see them sleeping in his living room, which he apparently asked them to do, as he goes off to draw a rose. Later we see them at the club again talking about whether he actually can make his art become real. Barrett doesn’t believe it but jessica explains that she never went to sleep. It goes back to the previous night and we see her open her eyes to see Brad. She seems him doing a drawing of a girl wrapped in green cellophane.

Scene 3: India Summer and Brad Armstrong

In this case the girl in played by India Summer. He walks up to her and she asked him if he wants to fuck her mouth, to which he says yes. He proceeds to let her suck him off while she swings from what looks like a sex swing. She does a good job at this and really seems to enjoy it. This is followed by missionary. At this point only her legs are still wrapped. She is very vocal during scene as well before it ends with a pop shot on her face which is covered by cellophane.

Back at Brad’s apartment, we see him working on the rose painting as jessica comes to visit; he then reveals that he brought it into existence. Back at the club jessica explains that what he does is art and Barrett ends up getting pissed and leaves. As jessica and Ryder leave we see Emilianna and Demi Delia dancing on stage.

Scene 4: Emilianna, Demi Delia and Randy Spears

As he watches them on stage, they start to make out. It then switches to another room and Demi is licking at her pussy. Randy helps her out a bit by rubbing and holding her clit in place for Demi (who is his wife in real life, just in case you didn’t know). After a bit of this Emilianna starts to suck Randy off while she is being eaten. Eventually Demi joins the fun as well. Demi gets action first, as she rides in reverse cowgirl. Emilianna gets her shot in doggie as she plays with Demi. Ends with a pop to both girls’ faces and then followed by them kissing each other.

Next we see jessica visiting Brad again. She asks him how he brings his art to life. He says he doesn’t know what she’s talking about. She wants to know the truth about him. She confesses that she didn’t sleep that one night and he says he knows. He tells her to leave when he thinks that she is no different than all his other students. She tells him off and he gives in and decides to tell her. After some more talking they get up so he can show her. He tells her to draw what she desires. She starts to draw money and he crumples up the page and tells her that she shouldn’t use the gift for that reason. She tries again with his help and they draw a man chained up with a dominatrix in front of him.

Scene 5: Michelle Mclaren, jessica drake, Aaron Wilcox and Brad Armstrong

The scene fades out and back in again as we see Brad and jessica in bed together sleeping. She wakes up and see her creation (Michelle and Aaron) standing by. Michelle tells him that they will start when the masters say it’s ok. She then starts to make Aaron beg on jessica’s orders. She starts teasing him a bit before going down and sucking him off. Brad and jessica watch from the bed. After a little bit Brad starts to eat jessica as she watches. After this we see Aaron taking care of Michelle in the same way on the couch before going back to see jessica sucking on Brad’s pole. Brad and jessica get up and see Aaron and Michelle going at it in doggie as they go over to join in. After a jessica gets her dose in doggie Michelle switches to sucking Aaron again before they both go in missionary. Michelle gets hers vaginally while jessica gets some anal fun. Both girls then get popped on by the man they were with. Cool scene overall. Usually you get everyone swapping but not in this case.

The rest of the movie has kind of a surprise twist so I don’t want to reveal anything here. I will say that there is no more sex after this so if that’s what you are looking for, you’ll know a head of time.

Extras: 

Seeing as how this is a regular release from Wicked, the extras are the basic package. You get a nice BTS, in which it’s revealed that Kaplan was actually suppose to be in this and jessica had to come and do it do to scheduling conflicts, photo galleries trailers. There is also a bonus scene from Dating 101 featuring jessica drake and Barrett Blade. Another thing they mention in the BTS is that all the drawings you see in the movie were actually done by Brad.

Final Thoughts:  

Considering that jessica was a last second replacement and the fact that Randy is a relatively new director, I think they did a descent job. Granted some of the sex scenes were lacking and the story became muddled at some spots but overall not a bad job. I give this a 3.75 out 5.
