J.P. of Studio 58 Events visited the Adult Empire Podcast to talk with hosts Nicole Chappelle and Charlie about their BDSM community events ranging from socials and parties to full hotel takeovers like Naughty Knowledge and Naughty Noel.
“Our emphasis is on education, but in a sexually charged atmosphere.” J.P. said, introducing Studio 58. “A lot of people think we come from a swinger background. It's not as much about the sex, it's more about the relationships between the people involved, whether it's two people, multiple people… Very sexually charged, a lot of fun, but a lot of what we do can be considered unsafe, so there's a lot of education, a lot of etiquette, and a lot of rules to make sure people are doing it safely. And hopefully they take that knowledge home and do that safely at home safely.”
J.P. talked with Nicole and Charlie about the intense planning, safety and security that goes on with these events and how this is a team coordinating the parties and shows through the year as opposed to just a security company hired to work events.
The interview occurred after Naughty Knowledge, which had record attendance this year.
“We took an education based event and said we want to make it education themed.” J.P. explained, “We want you to walk through the halls of the hotel and feel like you're back in school. We give you a second chance of being immersed in that atmosphere and having a great experience.”
Charlie asked about the classes offered at Studio 58 shows.
“There's certain types of impact play with canes, paddles, bare handed, floggers,” noted J.P. “We do classes on bondage, doing bondage safely, different types of bondage. We do classes about relationships, how to navigate scene etiquette, how to negotiate. We've had how to give a blowjob, pegging, anal, fisting. We do fireplay, wax play… erotic hypnosis. There's all sorts of ‘edgy play.'”
