Hello Scarlett, for those who might not know you please let us know you are and please describe yourself?
Hey kids! I’m Scarlett Fay, the foul mouthed Porn Babe who keeps you up at night with twitter rants and obscene photos. You may remember me from such films as Hustler’s Untrue Hollywood Stories: Lindsay Lohan and Hustler’s: Lindsay Goes to Jail, which brought me some media attention on TMZ and E! News.
What prompted you to join the adult industry?
Good company, a decent size paycheck and a lack of impulse control.
Seeing that you have been in the industry for a while, what would you say is the biggest misconception that people have about the adult industry?
Outsiders looking in seem to think that we’re nothing but a bunch of diseased, crazed sex maniacs running around corrupting today’s youth and destroying the moral code. The reality is that we’re not that interesting. Yes, we have sex on film and yes, we get paid for it but a good majority of us are just regular people who have families, enjoy the occasional indie film and harp on the same insecurities that everyone else has. We just hide it better because we’re naked.
Any thoughts of creating a members site and if so, what can your fans expect to find on that site?
Eventually I want to have a member’s store. I want to be able to have a site where they can watch me live and then have the opportunity to buy my most personal items right from the show. I am currently working on setting up a smaller store through a website where fans can buy signed photos, personal fan videos and my actual panties. And by that, I mean, the very panties I was wearing. Not a duplicate pair. The site is called PornstarMerch.com and I am hoping to have my merchandise ready for purchase by summer.
Last year you were involved in a KickStarter funded movie, High & Outside. What was it like working on this movie and what can you tell us about it?
I am very proud of this movie. We are currently still in production. I love that my very first mainstream role was an indie movie. It’s a lot of work & getting funding to complete this movie has been rough, but it makes the experience that much more personal. Evald Johnson is the director and he’s amazing. This being my first ever movie role has made me a nervous wreck. I want everything I do to be perfect, but everyone has been so kind to me and they’ve become my second family. Phil Donlon is the lead, who plays a minor league baseball player who is spiraling out of control. Phil is incredible. I’ve known him for a couple years and I owe him a lot for pushing me to do this and getting me the audition. We have an excellent cast such as: Geoffrey Lewis, Ernie Hudson, Lindsay Haun, Eddie Jemison and David Yow. I actually got to have a scene with Geoffrey Lewis, a Hollywood legend, which was not originally in the script. It was completely improvised and working with Lewis is something I will never forget. I can’t wait to pick up filming again. The entire cast & crew are incredible people. It’s been an incredible experience.
Besides the obvious, what is the biggest difference between shooting a mainstream product and shooting an adult movie?
I love being a part of the bigger features in porn, but porn tends to lack intimacy. You know that when you step onto a porn set the main goal is to have sex & do your damnedest to create a mind blowing scene. And hopefully you can create that chemistry with the short amount of time that you have. I have no idea what it’s like on bigger mainstream sets, but I do know that from the moment I walked onto the High & Outside set for my first day of shooting in October, I was comfortable and completely at ease. We all became fast friends and everyone was just as awkward and random as I am. There’s a lot of passion that goes into a mainstream movie and that’s not to say that porn is any less passionate, but with mainstream it’s more about the people, the players involved. Everyone completely transforms when the cameras roll and it’s amazing to watch.
What would you say is your favorite scene or movie that you have been in and why?
My favorite movies and scenes all come from the Lindsay Lohan parodies I did for Hustler. I really love working for that company. Being on those sets, the cast and crew, we could not stop laughing. To date, Hustler’s Untrue Hollywood Stories and Lindsay Goes to Jail have been the funniest scripts I’ve ever had to memorize and the most fun I’ve had on set. But nothing really compares to working one on one with Geoffrey Lewis in High & Outside.
What advice would you give someone that is thinking about joining the adult industry?
Take note that once it’s on the internet, it’s there for life. Do not agree to anything you’re not comfortable with just because an agent or director says you’ll make more money. Be firm about what you will and won’t do. The agent works for you, not the other way around. If you plan on keeping your porn career a secret, refer back to my first piece of advice. Once it’s on the internet, it is there to stay & someone you know will eventually find out. Don’t allow anyone to force you into the adult industry. This had to be your decision. Avoid suitcase pimps and pimps in general. Enjoying sex definitely helps. If you don’t like sex, go back to selling retail. If you decide to shoot porn, remember that you have a certain responsibility not just to yourself but to the people you work with as well. Meaning, if you’re going to have sex outside of work, keep yourself safe. Use protection because there’s an excellent chance that the person you’re having sex with outside of porn does not get tested. You owe it to yourself and to the people you work with. Porn is not forever, so, have a game plan and save your money. Be sure to buy your domain name before anyone else does and try to avoid porn star names such as Nikki, Jenna, Jesse, etc. We have plenty of those.
Are there any acts that you haven’t performed yet that you are thinking that you may do in the coming year?
I was contemplating doing my first girl/girl anal scene. I’ve never done anal and after six years, it may be time to spice it up.
Who are some of the people that you really want to work with but haven’t as of yet?
Penny Pax, Aaliyah Love, Andy San Dimas, Maddy O’Reilly and Madison Ivy, just to name a few.
What sort of things do you like to do when you aren’t working? Any hobbies?
I’m a big movie buff and I love to read. I’m not big on fiction but I love reading up on European history and I’m currently studying the anatomy of motive and criminal minds. I love hiking, long drives to nowhere and drowning everyone out with my music.
Are there any projects or special events coming up that you would like to promote, if so please do so?
I would ask that you all keep yourselves updated on High & Outside. You can follow those updates on twitter @highandoutmovie. Phil Donlon of High & Outside has also cast me in his future film, Heat & Flash, which is currently in its infancy but it’s another excellent project that I’m eager to begin. Recently I shot a music video for a band called Sapphica. The song is called “Robotics,” and it’s about sex dolls coming to life and killing their owners. I looked like a school girl anime character and that music video should be up fairly soon for your viewing pleasure. In the meantime, you can check out this amazing band at Sapphica.com and they are also on Sound Cloud as well as iTunes. I have a top secret project that I am currently keeping under wraps until I get the proper people involved to help me, so stay tuned.
