Los Angeles, CA – Wicked Sensual Care today announced that brand strategist, sex educator, and Wicked Pictures contract star jessica drake was a featured speaker at Tending The Garden's 2021 Virtual Summit.
A healing retreat for survivors of assault founded by sex educator and trauma expert Jimanekia Eborn, the two-day virtual summit Tending The Garden: Summit For Healing was designed to bring healing and accessible space to survivors of sexual assault, particularly those of marginalized identities. The event provided participants with access to licensed therapists, counselors, sex educators, and fellow survivors through a series of panels and discussions. jessica spoke alongside licensed clinical social worker Angie Gunn and veteran sex worker, community organizer, and black feminist pornographer Sinnamon Love on the panel Being a Sex Worker and a Survivor.
“Jimanekia and Tending The Garden have once again created a safe space for very necessary and yet often overlooked conversations about the intersection of survivors and people with marginalized identities,” jessica said of the summit. “Not only was I honored to speak as a panelist on Being a Sex Worker and a Survivor along with Sinnamon Love and Angie Gunn, I also attended the entire summit and learned so much from each of the panelists. As a survivor, finding new ways to heal and feeling a sense of community are so important, and I highly recommend everything Jimanekia and Tending The Garden have to offer.”
A much sought-after public speaker, jessica has garnered enthusiastic praise for her appearances at universities and sex-positive events across the country, with Dr. David Frederick of Chapman University's Crean School of Health and Behavioral Sciences describing her as “an exceptional speaker. I would highly recommend her as a speaker for any class related to media issues, gender, or sexuality.” Dr. Constance Penley, Professor of Film and Media Studies and Co-Director of the Carsey-Wolf Center at UC Santa Barbara, sees her as “a compelling and articulate sex educator who is also smart, funny, and compassionate.”
