Los Angeles, CA – Since its theatrical premiere in Los Angeles last month, director Sam Hain’s spectacular AVN Editor’s Choice Horizon has been earning raves from fans and critics alike. But those who missed this ambitious film’s L.A. debut will have another opportunity to experience this shocking vision of the future on the big screen when the director brings it to the prestigious Carsey-Wolf Center’s Pollock Theater at 7:00 PM tomorrow evening, October 19, 2011. The Carsey-Wolf Center is located on the beautiful grounds of the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB) campus.

As an official Department of Film and Media Studies event, Horizon is being screened as a part of Professor Constance Penley’s “Topics in Film Genre: Pornographic Film” series. After the screening, Hain will be joined onstage by stars jessica drake, Kaylani Lei, Alektra Blue, Kimberly Kane and producer Lee Roy Myers for an exclusive Q&A session with the audience. A reception with food and beverage will be held afterwards, giving students and faculty another opportunity to speak to Hain, Myers, and the lovely ladies of Horizon.

A noted film professor and porn-studies pioneer, Professor Penley’s forward-thinking, sex-positive work has been profiled in such publications as Rolling Stone and TIME (visit http://ti.me/6je4R4 to read the TIME piece). Dubbed “one of the eight most dangerous minds in America” by Rolling Stone, Penley has also graced the SyFy Channel, providing illuminating commentary for the network’s remastered screenings of Star Trek: The Original Series.

For his part, Hain couldn’t be more excited to bring his film to Professor Penley’s students. “It’s an honor to be invited to UCSB to show Horizon. It means a lot to all of us that a university of this stature was so impressed with our film that they’ve asked us to share it with their student body. I’m anxious to speak with the students after the screening!”
