The Wacking War?

Is this like that old axiom? ‘Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

It seems that North Korean military men who joined the Russia vs Ukraine conflict, fighting for Russia suddenly have unfettered access to the internet (the whole kettle of fish), something men from that country have never had (at least legally).  And it seems, that there is a possibility that these men are taking to the web to watch porn…and tons of it, surely feeding on that damn fish, and then some.

In a report, the US Pentagon was unable to confirm (and imagine the Pentagon trying to gather facts on this little military tidbit) but that came from an X posting from Financial Times’ foreign affairs commentator Gideon Rachman, the soldiers are “gorging on pornography.”

But before we jump too quickly here, US Defense Department spokesperson Army Lt. Col. Charlie Dietz told the US military news source Task and Purpose:

“We’re focused on the more serious aspects of North Korea’s involvement, if any, in Russia’s military operations. As for internet access, that’s a question best directed to Moscow. Right now, our attention remains on supporting Ukraine and addressing the more significant regional security concerns.”

Certainly, the above, if true, would prove an interesting fact, although not one any of us would find shocking. And really, would it impact the conflict, in any real way? Surely, it’s not unusual for one side to expose and play upon the frailties of an enemy, especially if it’s over something salacious. But the Russian/Ukraine conflict is a serious business, as is North Korean soldiers joining the fight. If these men are enjoying an extra stroke or two while engaging in a most dangerous enterprise, firstly, who can blame them, secondly, who cares?

We’d all agree that more porn watching, and less war would make this a better world.
